Success with BESSEY at The World Championship

Cabinet Makers winning gold twice.

A sensational success for German cabinet makers and carpenters: Michael Martin and Stefan Treude have been winning a gold medal each at the ‘worldskills’ professional championships in Helsinki. Martin was the winner in the category construction carpenter, Treude won as one of the cabinet makers. Both of them qualified for the world championship by being winners at the German Federal Skills Competition.

“I am totally happy. I never imagined that I would make it”, Treude said, when he heard that he was first. His colleague Martin was equally “thrilled at winning a gold medal. It was very strenuous indeed!”

Participants were allowed 22 hours time for their tasks. In the discipline construction carpentry a swinging door with two inlays was to be manufactured. The furniture makers had to produce a desk with an upper part and a bottom cabinet. Both furniture pieces were set tasks. In the end, an international jury assessed exactitude and quality of the skilled handicraft work.

In Helsinki some clamping tools of BESSEY were also involved. We warmly congratulate both young craftsmen and their agents for their splendid performances. BESSEY was able to accompany part of their training in the past. In the future we will also lend a helping hand with our innovative tooling, causing the work to be done faster and easier.
