BESSEY Tools supports participants at the trade world championships in Calgary

With high quality clamping tools, BESSEY Tool GmbH & Co. KG supported participants at the 40th trade world championships "WorldSkills" from 1st - 7th September 2009 in Calgary

Following the previous WorldSkills in Japan 2007, numerous trainees and young people had once again taken part in the national qualifiers and won themselves a ticket to WorldSkills 2009 in Calgary. A total of 23 participants in 20 competition disciplines took their place in the starting line-up for Germany.

The German joiner and cabinetmaker each took home medals and succès d`estime. Thorsten Kornmayer from Oberharmersbach collected the silver medal for joinery and received a second medal as best German participant. Matthias Eugler from Schönau was awarded a medal for excellent performance in cabinet-making.

Other participants from Switzerland and Austria, likewise supported by BESSEY, were also crowned with success. Peter Schwarz from Raperswilen received the gold medal for carpentry and Luzio Egli from Jonschwil the bronze medal for joinery. Martin Maurer from Unterkulm and Gerald Eidenberger from Hirschbach both attained succès d`estime in cabinetmaking.

The trade world championships takes place every two years. In Calgary, over 900 competitors competed in 45 trade groups. They came from 51 countries around the globe. Germany was nominated the host of WorldSkills 2013, with the event set to take place in Leipzig.

Professional competition, in particular also in new technologies, awakens a fascination and enthusiasm for technology and innovation amongst young people, stimulates professional performance and facilitates intercultural exchange simultaneously. BESSEY is proud to have been able to contribute to this great success.
