BESSEY SPONSOR OF THE EXHIBITION "FASCINATION OF TIN TOYS"
With the kind support of the BESSEY GROUP, an exhibition called "Fascination of Tin Toys" is taking place in the municipal museum "HORNMOLDHAUS" in Bietigheim-Bissingen.
Tôle is the French word for tin, and is pronounced like the German word "toll" meaning "great". Great is the fascination of old toys made of tin.
In the exhibition, collection pieces of olden times such as the "Bodenläufer train" of Ellwangen dating back to 1890 or the shop window decoration "Globus" of the Brothers Märklin & Cie in the year 1936 are shown.
Also of interest in our time are African children making tin toys from throw-away articles and waste package material, some of which are exhibited as well.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until February 27, 2005. For more details see www.bietigheim-bissingen.de "Faszination Blechspielzeug".
