BESSEY – Fit for the future

The BESSEY sales team returned from the Cologne “Practical World 2006” hardware trade fair full of optimism about the future.

Jürgen Friedrich, Head of the Tools Division commented “We are equipped for the future”. In 2005 the turnover of the tools division increased by 40 % to € 65 million. Global sales for the BESSEY Group was up 27 % to € 104 million. The aim is to increase sales outside of Germany further still – for achieving a total sales value of € 140 million per annum by 2008.

Numerous contacts were forged at the Practical World fair to prepare for BESSEY’s sales drive. Visitors from Germany and abroad were welcomed at the newly-designed BESSEY stand and given advice, and their numbers were high throughout the entire fair. BESSEY intends to increase its market share by strengthening its ties with existing partners and winning new ones.

The BESSEY ambience at the fair was a considerable success. The new user-friendly presentation of its products was also popular with visitors. BESSEY’s new motto “Simply better“ and its new user-related product catalogue were also hits.

Numerous new products were presented. The completely new ERDI high-tech shears can precisely cut aramide fibres, carbon fibres and glass fibres without difficulty. The presentation of the ERDI snips for sheet metal and ERDI multi-purpose cutters was new.

Also presented at the trade fair was the new “Best Comfort- System” for screw clamps - a modern two-component hand with spindle and three different exchangeable pressure plates. The Omega screw clamp is another new tool. The patented Omega bend means that the clamping pressure of the All-steel screw clamp is retained longer, even under vibration.

BESSEY’s appearance at the trade fair was a total success in every way.
