ERDI High-tech shears
The ERDI high-tech shears allow aramide fibres, carbon fibres and glass fibres to be cut easily and with precision. The D 900 series comprises 3 completely new shears
The 3 new models
The ERDI Aramid shears are the optimal solution for aramide fibres. The Fibre model and Fibre Z model with micro-toothing have been developed for carbon fibres and glass fibres.
Powerful cutting performance
Aramide fibres are used in the construction boat-building, aircraft, racing cars or for protective clothing for the police or fire - brigade. The golden yellow material is very tough but the ERDI Aramide shears can cope with it effortlessly. The cutter blades have a hardness value of 60 – 62 HRc and in addition have a durable coating. This gives the shears a very long working life.
Long cuts
The Fibre model for use with glass fibres and carbon fibres has no toothing so that very long sliding cuts are possible. One application is the manufacture of rotor blades for wind turbines. These rotor blades have a length of approx. 65 metres.
Optimal control
The Fibre Z model with micro-toothing is the ideal solution for short and long cuts. The micro-toothing prevents slipping of fine-meshed and smooth materials, allowing the user optimal control over the material.
Easy cutting
The precision grinding process enables the shears to slide cleanly and easily over the fibres. The user no longer needs to lift up the material thanks to the clever arrangement of handle rings and blades.
Outstanding design
The ERDI high-tech shears enable high-performance cutting, whilst at the same time being user-friendly. The handle rings are so large that users can wear gloves without getting pressure points on the hands. The handle rings are rounded in such a way that both left-handed and right-handed individuals can use the shears .
Easy cleaning
The shears are resistant to solvents and resin can be easily removed from them using acetone. The shears are then ready to use again immediately.
