BESSEY tools are PAH-free

The BESSEY brand stands for intelligent and high-quality tools. For this reason, BESSEY has had its products with soft plastic caps examined for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) at the Analytis test institute in Wesseling. The test examiner’s results: BESSEY tools are PAH-free.

The examiners tested multi-purpose cutters and compound leverage snips. In addition, the Clippix and VarioClippix spring clamps, small and large two-component handles and pressure caps for C-frame edge clamps were also tested. The Analytis test institute has now certified BESSEY as being clearly below the maximum permissible values for the 16 most important PAHs for the tools examined. All BESSEY soft plastic caps contain less than 10 milligrams of all 16 PAHs when projected up to a kilogram and less than 1 milligram of benzopyrene.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are considered to be carcinogenic and are commonly found in tools manufactured in China. They form a substance class of organic compounds which are created by the partial oxidation of materials such as coal, fuels or wood. PAHs can enter the body by means of foodstuffs, drinking water or through the skin.
