Full steam ahead
BESSEY is to equip all its high-performance clamps with new pressure plates. The pressure plates are heat resistant and are extremely durable – a hardened sintered steel insert and high-temperature grease on the inside of the pressure plate makes it all possible. With the new pressure plates, BESSEY’s high-performance clamps also offer considerably more clamping processes at the maximum clamping force than competitor products.
BESSEY is to supply the new pressure plates as of now for all high-performance clamps and U-clamps. Particularly significant is the large spherical head on the inside of the pressure plate. It serves to make the plate less sensitive to soiling, as small gaps can be avoided.
It has an extremely long service-life due to its excellent sliding and emergency running properties of the sintered steel inserts. This means that BESSEY has minimised friction in the pressure plate. This serves to make the job even easier for users. The new pressure plate can be tilted to an angle of 35 degrees and is replaceable.
Tests undertaken by BESSEY’s development department have shown that the new pressure plates ensure a sustained high clamping force. While competitor high-performance clamps only exhibited clamping forces of between 50% and 80% after 50 clamping processes, BESSEY’s tools with the new pressure plates still achieved the maximum of 100% clamping force, even after considerably more clamping processes.
