Greater clamping force, greater safety - Fitters’ clamp SLM
In the new generation of high-performance clamps from BESSEY, the SGM is now joined by the “lighter duty” SLM Fitters clamp. The completely redesigned SLM clamp, with optimised rail profile, now offers even more safety and clamping force for the most challenging demands.
High clamping force
The optimised profile guarantees a more rapid increase in clamping force over a shorter time, with enhanced stability and safety. The fixed clamping jaw and pressure plate are produced from one piece, tempered and are very heavy-duty and warp resistant. The result: 20% more force per turn of the spindle. However, the clamping force remains finely adjustable – an advantage in particular with heavy superstructure parts – and achieves at a maximum 8,500 N.
Very extreme
The newly designed sliding clamp, forged from a single piece, is high-tech on the smallest scale. During the clamping process its ultra stable U-shape transfers the force directly to the bar – a principle that has proven itself optimum in the construction of steel girders and during bridge-building. And with a 25 Nm tightening torque, the SLM clamps quickly and securely.
Handy to use
The SLM high-performance clamp is available with clamping openings of 200 to 600 mm, each with a 120 mm throat depth. With its relatively low weight it is highly powerful, yet extremely handy. The flattened surface of the fixed clamping jaw pressure plate eases the attachment of individual adapters.
Multifaceted in practice
SLM clamps come standard with a patented special pressure plate, which pivots up to 35°. It has a smooth surface and can be exchanged quickly if necessary. Other options include a plate that has a roughened surface for workpieces that require greater grip, or with a special pressure plate that has a V-groove for round, oval or straight-edged workpieces.
SLM high-performance metalwork clamps are available from specialist dealers from around 65 Euros.
